King, Burke are Coca-Cola Doubles champions
FRIDAY AUGUST 08 2008, GROS-ISLET, Saint Lucia – Darian King and
Brandon Burke remained focused throughout and defeated their opponents
Kevin Deligny and Devard Wharton 6-1 6-3 in the Boys 18 Doubles Final of the
2008 Coca-Cola ITF Junior Tennis Tournament this afternoon, at the Saint Lucia
Racquet Club Courts.

With almost relative ease, the pair took the Doubles title, and one of them will
no doubt do the double, for Brandon Burke is one of the Boys 18 Singles finalists.
Fausthyara Pietersz and Mara Schmidt got a light workout, defeating Carlista
Mohammad and Raye-Ann Sandy 6-2 6-2, winning the Girls 18 Doubles title.
Dylan Hall and Daniel Steele defeated Edward Buckley and Juanaldo Greig 6-2 6-
2, winning in the process the Boys’ 12 Doubles title.

Earlier today, Darian King lost to Brandon Burke 7-5 4-6 6-3 in the first Boys 18
semi-finals to be played, while Rodney Carey of the Bahamas stopped all dreams
of John Randolph Thornton 6-3 6-3 in the other Boys 18 Singles semi-final.
Tjimon Louisy of Saint Lucia defeated Edward Buckley of Antigua 7-5 6-3 in a
Boys 12 Singles semi-final, and will now face in the Boys 12 Singles final on
Saturday morning, Dylan Hall of Barbados, who got past Ajani Thomas of Saint 6-
2 6-3 in the other semi-final.

In further high stakes action tomorrow morning, Nelo Phiri of the USA, will face
compatriot Allison Falkin in the Girls 18 Singles final, Julia d’Auvergne of Saint
Lucia will clash with Greta Ambrose of Grenada in the Girls 12 Singles final, and
d’Auvergne will feature, following an appropriate rest period, in the Girls 12
Doubles final.
She along with her partner Joelle Hall will be taking on Roberta Haslam and
Paige Veira of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The other high stakes final will be the Boys 12 Consolation final, involving
Andrew Symmonds of Barbados and Daniel Steele of Grenada, bringing to a
climatic end, the 2008 Coca-Cola ITF Junior Tennis Tournament.
