WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 06 2008, GROS-ISLET, Saint Lucia – “No more
errors,” was what Adrian de Silva of Trinidad was heard pleading with his
partner Akiel Duke also a Trinidadian, during a rest period in their Boys 14
Doubles semi-final clash with Eric Miklin of the USA and Shaheed Mourillon-Swift
of Antigua on Court 1.
Having lost the first set 1-6, and his partner seemingly about to crumble, de Silva
literally scolded him as the two sat together during the break.
This worked for they went on to win the game 1-6, 6-1, 6-1, and the pair will
clash with in the 2008 Coca-Cola ITF Junior Tennis Tournament Boys 14 Finals,
with Yannick James and Corey Wilson both of Grenada, who stopped the pair of
Alex Hossle of Grenada and Jody Maginley of Antigua 6-0 6-1 in the other Boys
14 semi-final match.

The Girls 14 Doubles Finals will feature the pair of Thira Calder of Grenada and
Stacey Roheman of Saint Lucia who stopped Naomi Braithwaite of Grenada and
Olivia Haslam of St. Vincent and the Grenadines 6-3 6-4 in their semi-final clash.
The other pair into the Girls’ 14 Doubles Finals is Keishorea Armstrong and
Chassidy King, both of Antigua, who defeated Vincentian pair of Daneya Charles
and Halima Michael 6-4 6-2.
Both the Boys and Girls’ 14 Doubles Finals has been scheduled to be played
tomorrow afternoon, Thursday August 07, 2008 at the Saint Lucia Racquet Club.
In Girls 18 Doubles matches, Nelo Phiri and Sabrina Tahir of the USA, defeated
the Barbados pair of Alyssa Fuentes and Kristen Lopez 6-4 7-6 (5), and Lois
Alexis and Giselle Clarke of Grenada stopped Jodie Watson and Kareika Watson
6-1 6-0.

Kevin Deligny continued to play high quality tennis in both Singles and Doubles,
and in his last game today, he and his partner Devard Wharton defeated Liam
Gomez and Eric Vehovec 6-4 6-3 in a Boys 18 Doubles encounter.
Brandon Burke and Darian King stopped the advance of Rodney Carey and
Quincy Olij 6-1 6-3, while Ryan Cheung and Ryan Ho defeated Ernesto Arguello
and John Randolph Thornton 6-2 6-1 in Boys 18 Doubles action.
Blake Brookman and Jean Sebastien Dionne-Roy defeated Jeremy Court and
Andrew Prince 6-3 6-7 (5) 6-3 in Boys 18 Doubles, and in the day’s final match,
Kausthyara Pietersz and Mara Schmidt defeated Allison Falkin and Shami
Stocker-Jones 6-4 6-3.
With two finals scheduled for tomorrow, which now signals the time when only
the top players, not necessarily the best but those who modified their game to
suit the conditions, will clash for the top prizes.
