in Paradise boxing extravaganza punches off.

Showtime Sports, Boxing in Paradise tonight the Beausejour Cricket Ground will
echo to the screams of fight fans as the six professional bouts on the card are
expected to live up to expectation.
When the action commences at 9:00 p.m., in a middleweight matchup and one of
the feature fights to be televised live, 2004 Olympic Gold Medallist Andre Ward
clashes with Roger Cantrell.
The two unbeaten fighters are not prepared to back down, with Ward being 13-0
while Cantrell is also undefeated at 12-0.
In a heavyweight division showdown, Joey Abell of Minneapolis will go toe to toe
with Nigeria’s Teke Oruh.
However Saint Lucian fight fans will be interested in the eight-round
welterweight bouts between Ashley Theophane of England, and Marcos
Hernandez of the Dominican Republic.

Theophane is the British number one ranked contender, with an impressive
record of 18-2-1 record, and his father resides in the west-coast village of
Canaries.
His opponent Hernandez has a record of 9-9-1, but what matters on the night is
how one sticks to his game plan.
Theophane, who idolises Iron Mike Tyson and “Marvellous” Marvin Haggler, is not
prepared to have no more blemishes on his record.
Then there is William Joppy of Washington, DC, going up against Etienne
Whitaker from Warren, Ohio in an eight-round Super Middleweight bout, and
Lennox Allen of Guyana facing Jonathan Nelson of Oklahoma City.
Will Hector Camacho jr live up to his reputation as he possesses a record of over
48 fights with only two loses to his names.

In an eight round super middleweight encounter, he takes on the impressive
looking Joshua Smith of Nashville, Tennessee.
It is the first such bout in Saint Lucia, and with tickets price at a giveaway
EC$25.00, with ringside seats costing EC$50.00, many are expected for the
historic evening.
