Windies name squads

BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS - The West Indies selectors have named two squads of

players for upcoming engagements against the touring Australians, in the 2008

Digicel Home One-Day Internationals, and Twenty20 International, respectively.

For the Digicel Twenty20 International against Australia at Kensington Oval,

Barbados on June 20, the selectors named Sulieman Benn, Dwayne Bravo,

Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Fidel Edwards, Andre Fletcher, Xavier Marshall, William

Perkins, Keiron Pollard, Daren Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Kemar Roach, Darren

Sammy, Ramnaresh Sarwan, and Jerome Taylor.

Head Coach John Dyson has indicated that Chris Gayle is being rested to allow

his groin injury to fully heal, while Sewnarine Chattergoon is unavailable due to

an ankle injury.

The West Indies selectors have also named the squad for the 1st Digicel One-

Day International at Arnos Vale, in St Vincent and the Grenadines on June 24,

and the 2nd and 3rd Digicel One-Day Internationals at the National Stadium in

Grenada on June 27 and 29.

They are Sulieman Benn, Dwayne Bravo Patrick Browne, Shivnarine Chanderpaul,

Fidel Edwards, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Xavier Marshall, Keiron Pollard, Daren

Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Darren Sammy, Ramnaresh Sarwan, and Jerome Taylor.
