Soufriere and Vieux-Fort booked places in the next round of the inaugural
Guinness Veterans Football Tournament after lackluster action on Friday evening
at the Beausejour Cricket Ground.
In the first encounter last evening Soufriere got past former national champions
C.Y.O. two goals to one.C.Y.O. opened the scoring in the 37th minute when
former national striker Vitalis “bravo”Jervais slotted home a through pass from
former national midfielder and captain Trevor Cadette. |

Another former national player Agustus”fada”Lucien equalized for Soufriere in
the 44th minute but a wonderful strike by Kenneth Prescott in injury time gave
Soufriere victory to book their place in the next round of the competition.

In the second match of the evening a very dull and drab affair an Alan Smith goal
in the 72nd minute gave Vieux_Fort a one goal to nil victory over Lancers.
