FRIDAY JULY 04, 2008, CASTRIES, Saint Lucia – Bryden and Partners along
with Minveille and Chastanet of the M&C Group of Companies, have teamed up
to support the Saint Lucia National Under-23 Netball Team.
The Saint Lucia Under-23 ladies will be participating in the 2008 OECS Under-23
Netball Tournament, scheduled to be played at the Indoor Practice Facility at
Beausejour from July 06 to 12, 2008.
According to Lawrence Joseph, the Assistant Brand Manager for Lucozade, “this
is to ensure that the players are provided with energy drinks, so that they can
play to their best in all of the matches.”

In the opinion of Minveille and Chastanet officials, “it was up for us to do
something for the young ladies who are going to represent our country,
especially for the sport of netball that does not get a lot of coverage.”
Footwear for the players and gear for the officials were provided by Minveille and
Chastanet, as was revealed by Mervin Fedee, the Assistant Human Resource
Manager at Minveille and Chastanet.
He pointed out that it was a joint effort by the M&C Group of Companies to
support the 2003 Saint Lucia National Under-23 Netball Team, “and we will do it
again next year.”
However not all expected support came through, despite the positive indications
given. One telecommunications company at the last moment despite spending
thousands in support of carnival, failed to support media coverage of the
tournament, and the management of the facility leaves much to be desired.
Upon arrival at the facility, there was no one from management or maintenance
there, and from all indications, the cleaning of the facility on a daily basis was
none existent, although the Saint Lucia National Netball Association is being
charge EC$1,500.00 daily. (Robertson S. Henry)
