Defending champions handed defeat

too be the sports shocker for quite some time, and the upset of the tournament,
St. Kitts handed 12-time champions St. Vincent and the Grenadines a 51 – 48
defeat.

they maintain a lead throughout the encounter, played this morning at the
Beausejour Indoor Facility, on day two of the 2008 OECS Under-23 Netball
Tournament.
Ronel Morton with 44 goals scored out of her 53 attempts taken, and Tennele
Lapsey scored 7 out of 13 attempts, were the standard bearers for St. Kitts who
lead in all quarters 13 – 8, 28 – 22, 38 – 34, and final score of 51 – 48.

never a dull moment in the Antigua versus St. Kitts clash
For Antigua, Tamara Samuel had 15 out of 19, Leeana Lewis 21 out of 25, and
Shellise Davis 12 out of 13 as the Vincentians effected changes in personnel, but
this morning, it was just the Kittians time.
In the morning’s second game, hosts Saint Lucia defeated Antigua leading in all
quarters, with scores of 18 – 9, 33 – 13, 45 – 19, and 60 – 25.

in defence Saint Lucia soared to higher heights
Saint Lucia’s captain Safiya Paul continued her good form with 43 goals scored of
the 53 attempts she took, Merleesa Alfred scored 13 out of 17, and Roxanne
Snyder 2 out of 7.
For Antigua, Jermila Fitz scored 14 out of 28 attempts taken, Tricia Jarvis 5 out of
7, and Kizzy Thomas 6 out of 10.
Grenada kept their campaign alive with a 77 – 23 work over of Anguilla, leading
