Squash action is heated as many fall

KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent and the Grenadines - The O.E.C.S Squash

Championships 2008 got off to a grand start Thursday at the National Squash

Centre in Paul's Avenue, Kingstown with teams, namely British Virgin Islands,

Dominica, Saint Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines vying for the title of

O.E.C.S Squash Champions 2008.


In the Men's Open, Kevin Bailey defeated Marc Dowing 9/7, 9/0, 9/1,   Joe

Chapman defeated Jules Snagg 9/2,9/4,9/3, Paul Cyrus defeated Dominique

Rivers 9/3, 9/2, 9/3, Shane Slater defeated Bradley Glasgow 9/2,9/0,9/1, Charlie

Sonson defeated Raffique Browne 9/3, 9/5, 9/2,  Colin Alexander defeated Chris

Gardiner 9/0, 9/3,9/5, Kevin Hannaway defeated Leonard Bedneau 9/1, 9/1,

9/4, James Bentick def Randolph Kahn 9/0, 9/7, 9/2, Marc Dowing defeated Raffie

Browne 9/3, 9/2, 9/1, Dominque Rivers defeated Chris Gardiner 4/9, 0/9, 9/4,

9/3, 10/8, Leonard Bedneau defeated Randolph Khan 9/1, 9/3, 9/3  Charlie

Sonson defeated  Kevin Bailey 9/2, 9/3, 9/0, Jules Snagg defeated Bradley

Glasgow 9/1,9/3,9/3  Joe Chapman defeated Shane Slater 9/3, 9/2, 6/9, 9/1.


While in the Women's Open Sherian Slater defeated Amber Glasgow 9/6, 9/0,

9/6, Musonda Poole defeated Greta Primus 9/0, 9/0, 9/0, Amber Glasgow

defeated Alisa Alvis 9/0, 9/0, 9/2, Sherian Slater defeated Greta Primus 9/3, 10/8,

9/3

Musonda Poole defeated Alisa Alvis 9/0, 9/2, 9/0.


In the Men's Over 40 Paul Cyrus defeated Stephen Joachim 9/5, 9/0, 9/0, Colin

Alexander defeated Neville Sorrentino 9/5, 8/10, 9/5, 9/3 Stephen Joachim

defeated David Piper 10/8, 9/7, 9/5.

 

While in the Men's Over-50 division, Winston Findlay defeated Leroy Lewis 9/5,

0/9, 5/9, 3/9, Jon Osman defeated John Horne 10/8, 9/4, 9/5.


The Semifinal and finals of the Men's, Women's Open, Over-40 and Over-50

divisions, are slated to be played this Friday while the team matches will
