St. Lucia Primary School Dive on Friday

CASTRIES, Saint Lucia - The sixth Annual Primary School Swim Meet swims off

this Friday May 16 2008 at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre, with participation

expected from about 12 of the Primary Schools from around the island.

The ongoing program is conducted by the Saint Lucia Amateur Swimming

Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sport, and the Ministry

of Education, and is designed to bring the competitive aspect of swimming into

the schools and is hoped to be part of a larger competitive school program.

The Primary schools have benefited from the generosity of the Sandals Grande

Hotel, who donated the funds necessary for the hosting of the meet.

The meet starts at 10:00 a.m., and will have generally short races and geared

towards the different levels of swimmers including those at competitive club level

and below.

Last year’s Primary School Swim Meet was won by the Bonne Terre Primary, who

will be looking to repeat the victory.
