GROS-ISLET, Saint Lucia; Saturday August 11th 2007 – Six champions were
crowned in as many divisions when the final day of action in the 2007 Coca-Cola
ITF Junior Tennis Tournament served off at the Saint Lucia Racquet Club Courts
at Smugglers Cove this morning.
On Stadium Court in an all American clash, Hannah Berner defeated Jessica
Wacnik 7-5 6-3, to take the 2007 Girls’ Singles title.
On Court Three, Kelly Voight of Suriname defeated Daneya Charles of St. Vincent
and the Grenadines 6-0 6-3 enroute to winning the Girls 12 Singles title.
Then at Court Four, the much talented Jualon Greig of Trinidad and Tobago was
unable to stopped Yannick James of Grenada who won 6-4 6-4, and the Boys’
12 Singles title in the process.
In another final played this morning, Suriname’s Sarah Hew defeated Naomi
Braithwaite of Grenada 7-5 6-2 on Court Five to win the Girls’ 14 Singles title. The Boys’ 14 Singles title was won by Fabrice George of Grenada when he
defeated Gian Issa of Suriname 6-2 6-2 on Court Six. |
